LA PLONGE, SK, Oct. 17, 2025/ CNW/ – The Federal government of Canada is dedicated to advancing tidy, trustworthy and budget friendly energy options while supporting Native management in structure Canada’s tidy energy future. Today, The Honourable Buckley Belanger, Secretary of State (Rural Advancement), on behalf of the Honourable Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, revealed over $ 1.9 million in federal assistance for the advancement of an advanced wise microgrid serving the neighborhoods of La Plonge and Poplar Home District in northern Saskatchewan.
This ingenious task, led by Aurora Renewables, a First Country tidy energy provider owned by the Des Nedhe Group and Extropic Energy, will incorporate solar energy and battery storage to enhance energy durability, assistance grid stability and boost renewable resource generation in these neighborhoods. The task is totally owned by English River First Country through the Des Nedhe Group.
Moneyed through NRCan’s Energy Development Program, the La Plonge and Poplar Home District wise microgrid stands as a design for Indigenous-led, community-owned tidy energy efforts. By executing sophisticated Digital Twin innovation, the task will enhance grid operations, minimize greenhouse gas emissions and assist improve the energy grid in northern Saskatchewan
