PRIDDIS, AB, June 12, 2025/ CNW/ – Canada Post will release a brand-new set of stamps honouring 3 Native leaders on June 20, a day ahead of National Indigenous Peoples Day ( June 21). Julia Haogak Ogina, Sophie McDougall and Bruce Starlight will each be included on a stamp for their devotion to protecting the culture and languages of their Inuit, Métis and First Nations neighborhoods.
Bruce Starlight (b. 1947) is a Senior Citizen and Understanding Keeper who has actually invested more than 5 years working to conserve his language and culture from termination. He worked as a language commissioner for his neighborhood and was amongst the creators of the Tsúut’ ínà Gunáhà Násʔághà, an institute devoted to the conservation and revitalization of his native tongue.
