New grant fund will award $10,000–$ 20,000 to companies advancing ecological and environment justice for Black women, females, and femme-identifying youth.
SELMA, Ala., Feb. 26, 2026/ PRNewswire/– Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium (Southern Black Ladies) introduced its Environment and Environment Justice Fund, a brand-new grant effort devoted to supporting companies that promote for and construct services around ecological and environment justice affecting Black women, females, and femme-identifying youth in the South. The application due date is March 10, 2026.
With the launch of the Environment and Environment Justice Fund, Southern Black Girls deepens its dedication to resourcing those who are on the frontlines of the environment crisis in the South. The fund will supply grants varying from $10,000 to $20,000 to underfunded companies that focus Black females and girl-led companies who are advancing ecological and environment justice through mitigation, durability, and policy modification. Qualified companies need to run in among 13 Southern states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The launch of the Environment and Environment Justice Fund shows a natural extension of the company’s objective. Chanceé Lundy, Executive Director of Southern Black Girls and a prominent ecological engineer by training, brings years of competence at the crossway of ecological justice and neighborhood empowerment. In 2024, she was welcomed by the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, to engage with leaders, activists, and females business owners on shared difficulties around environment modification, equity, and financial empowerment.
The fund opens throughout Black Environment Week 2026 (February 21– 28), a nationwide project led by The Solutions Job and the NAACP now in its 6th year that centers Black neighborhoods as centers of environment development and justice. By releasing together with this nationwide minute of acknowledgment, Southern Black Girls is magnifying a clear message: buying companies that focus Black females and women is among the most effective methods for constructing environment durability in the neighborhoods that require it most.
